Power Yoga

Power yoga is a modification of Astanga Yoga with a less strict approach to the order of poses.  Power Yoga was popularized in 1995 by Beryl Bender Birch in her book "Power Yoga."  It consists of vinyasas, a certain set of poses that flow continuously together.

Power yoga is sweaty, athletic and fast paced.  It is very often offered in fitness clubs, and, like Astanga, attracts a great number of males.
