Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga was popularized by Yogi Bhajan. This ancient practice is designed to awaken the "kundalini", coiled energy stored at the base of the spine.
Kundalini yoga incorporates breathwork, chanting, meditation and asanas to stimulate the nervous system and organs and release blocked energy. This energy flows through the body via "chakras", energy centers along the spine. Kundalini yoga combines breathing techniques, among them Alternate Nostril Breath and Breath of Fire, with asanas to cleanse and energize the body. To fully understand and reap the benefits of Kundalini Yoga, a consistent practice is strongly recommended.
